Late in 2023, Planet is planning to release a new and improved cloud mask called UDM2.1. Built for SkySat and PlanetScope imagery, UDM2.1 classifies pixels in imagery into different classes to make it easier to analyze usable imagery. The new model offers an up to 90% boost in performance compared to our previous version. With this release we’re also offering the ability to filter imagery based on cloud cover specific to your clipped area of interest.
